The Dresden Farmers Market held it's Grand Opening in June of 2014, but the vision began long before.
Located at the Terry Oliver Plaza on 421 Linden Street, the property was obtained from former owner CSX Railroad. The very spot where the Market stands today is the former location of the railroad depot. Homestead Timber Frames and Allen Searcy Builder Contractors constructed the facility.
The community leaders wanted a structure to bring the community and businesses together. The purpose of the Market is for individuals to come together to enjoy fresh produce and delicious value-added products. The pavilion which is available to rent, is also a hub for social activity and healthy lifestyle choices.
The Dresden Farmers Market is currently seasonal with the opening day being on the last Saturday of April continuing until the last Saturday of October.
The Dresden Farmers Market hours are Saturdays from 8a.m. - 12p.m. and Thursdays from 2p.m. - 6p.m.
The Market is home to a wide range of vendors who sell a large variety of fresh produces, plants, local honey, local eggs, jams & jellies, homemade breads, homemade sweets, goat milk, cheeses, (through a herd share program), soaps & other products, naturally raised beef, pork, & chicken, & homemade craft & art items, etc!
