In addition to traditional agriculture operations of hay and cattle, the Old Fort has a half acre educational garden and two high tunnels which supply our weekly farm stand, on-site County Store, weekly summer CSA and Sodexo campus dining. The Farm Stand is held on Wednesdays 12:30 to 3:30 beginning in July outside the Student Union building on the Fort Lewis Campus in Durango. The on-site Country Store is open from dawn until dusk during the growing season and accepts cash or checks. Additionally, it is the site of the Old Fort Market Garden Incubator program that offers an alternative entry point for beginning farmers through internships, farmer in training (FIT) program or for independent businesses interested in starting a diversified vegetable farm operation.
Products include a wide variety of cool season and root crop vegetables in addition to our own grass fed beef and locally grown pork products.
