Rainbow Sage Farm is an experiment with food independence and sustainability. We are not currently organically certified but grow our food using composted manures, fish emulsion, and without any chemical pestisides or herbisides. We use primarily heirloom seed, seed collected by ourselves, or seed that has been personally handed down to us. The vegetables that we are currently growing include: several varieties of beets, radishes, spinach, chard, onion, cilantro, dill, peppers, carrot, lettuce, squash, gourds, turnip, rutabega, kale, and tomato. We also have a small flock of happy chickens that include breeds from: americana, rhode island red, brown star, red star, blue andalusian, cornish x rocks, and white leghorns. We have one excellent nubian milk goat that just kidded that we produce cheese (not for sale) and soap (for sale) with. Each year and with every passing season we are expanding ever so slightly and have plans to eventually add bees and aquaponically grown fish and produce to our list. We are currently selling our produce every Sunday morning at the village walk farmers market in Murrieta, ca. from 9 am to 1 pm. We also offer farm tours by reservation during week days or at 3 pm after the market on Sundays for $5 per person, which gives people a chance to see first hand where their food is coming from and how it's grown.
