Our deep concern for the environment motivates us to find ways to meet our basic needs in harmony with the needs of the planet. We realize that everything we do has an effect on everything else and everything we place into the landscape sits in functional relationship "good or bad" to everything else.
On our 5-acre lot right outside Galena, we demonstrate, experiment with and advocate for sustainable living. From geothermal heating, perma-culture gardening, home-brewing, beekeeping, worm farming, poultry raising to art with a message, we try to close the circle between what we take from and return to the Earth. As a result we are becoming more self-reliant and we truly enjoy the creativity involved in applying sustainable practices to our semi-rural setting.
We love to show others what we learn here on our little farm and hope they too will experience the satisfaction that comes from living sustainably through personal choice, action and activism.
We run a wholesale buying club and offer seasonal produce, artisan mustards, jams and breads at the Galena farmers market. Fresh, free range eggs (and occasional honey) available at the 'farm'.
