Located in South Onondaga we're just a stones throw from most CNY communities. Were conveniently located just a short drive from Syracuse, Skaneateles, Marcellus, J-D, F-M, Lafayette, Tully, Camillus and most of CNY.

We use ecological, sustainable and regenerative growing practices

Stones Throw Farm grows a diverse array of specialty vegetables, herbs, and flowers for our CSA Programs and a few select wholesale accounts.

Our CSA Programs are the foundation of our farm and we offer; Regular Season, Late Season and Winter Season CSA Programs. Our unique on-farm pick-up experience is a great way to connect with your food, farm and farmers and our reputation for quality and value is our greatest asset. Please let us put our experience, compassion and commitment to work for you this season.

In addition, we are beekeepers producing artisanal honey, we raise a small assortment of bramble and tree fruit, and we keep a flock of laying hens that are fed local organic grain.

Our farm is situated on Palmyra Gravel Loam soils. These mineral rich glacial soils drain well, dry early and are full of stones for throwing into the hedgerow. Healthy, biologically vibrant soils, are the foundation of our farm. Our sustainable soil-centric approach to food production produces vegetables and herbs that are extremely flavorful and nutritious!

We primarily grow for our CSA programs. Over 95% of our production goes directly to our CSA members! However, on occasion we may have excess crops available during the season that are available for direct sale. Do you can or freeze produce? Are you planning a special event and need vegetables, herbs, or flowers? We may be able to help - give us a call!

Furthermore, with advance planning we may be able to custom grow for your restaurant or business. We have a long history of growing specialty vegetables and have developed meaningful direct wholesale relationships with some of the first and finest chefs engaged in the CNY farm-to-table movement. We'd love to talk with you about your interests and needs so please don't hesitate to contact us.

What's the Buzz?

For many years we have happily hosted hives from our friends at Lee's Bees. We've greatly appreciated the opportunity to host honey bees at the farm and we have learned a great deal about bee keeping and the art of producing amazing artisanal honey. In 2018 we officially "took over the reigns" and have been managing our own bee yard and honey business. Our bees are managed without synthetic chemicals and our honey is never filtered or pasteurized. We manage our bees using sustainable and natural techniques and have been splitting and breeding survivor colonies in an effort to improve our local genetic stock. We love keeping honey bees here at Stones Throw Farm and take great pride in producing the very best quality honey and bee products. Our artisanal honey and bee products will be available retail from the farm, via direct order and through select local businesses.
