My husband and I started an organic garden four years ago in Western Washtenaw county outside of Ann Arbor, Michigan. Originally we intended to feed ourselves and family-friends with enough to preserve for winter. While not new to gardening I had not grown in Michigan since my childhood. In 2010 with more food than we could eat and donate we decided to triple our size and offer a family-friend informal CSA. We use sustainable-organic practices. Our heritage hens provide eggs for our CSA as well as the market. We raise American Chinchilla rabbits of which breed stock pedigrees are available. American Chin's are listed on the ARK of taste. Visit Scio Valley American Chinchillas and MadarasDesign.com.
