Grow Ohio Valley offers Local Food Baskets through our Black Swan Organics brand. When you purchase a subscription, you gain access to weekly distributions of fresh, organic produce from our urban agriculture projects and from local family farms. It works like this: You pay up front ($425). Starting in early summer, and for the next 15 weeks, you will come to our pick-up location in East Wheeling, anytime during the day on Wednesday. We will hand you a box, which will include a few "Famer's Choice" veggies that we are particularly excited for you to try. Then, you will select a set number of items from our produce bins, filling your box with your favorite local and organically grown produce. You will also take home our weekly "Notes from the Farm" packed with recipes, news from our gardens, and stories from local farmers. A great value, an unbeatable way to plug into the local food scene, and -most of all- a way to make a commitment to your health and your community's health. That's $425 for the entire summer (15 weeks) of weekly fresh-harvested organic food. Broken down, that's less than $29/week. These baskets value at up to $40 at retail/grocery store prices.
