Steve and Karen Persinger are owners of Rising Fawn Gardens located in Rising Fawn, Georgia. Just 25 minutes south of downtown Chattanooga, the 600-acre farm is nestled between the natural boundaries of Lookout Creek and the western slope of Lookout Mountain. Rising Fawn Gardens is a sustainable farm focusing on sunflowers, fruits, vegetables, and supplemental feed for pasture raised livestock. Fertile pastures surrounded by hardwood forest, clean flowing water, and abundant wildlife form a unique habitat rich in history dating back thousands of years. A sustainable farming practice means we focus our efforts to work in harmony with the soil and nature. By using cover crops, composted organic matter, and crop rotations along with a whole lot of love (and hoeing), our gardens are producing quality products without the use of herbicides, insecticides or commercial fertilizers.
