Tide Mill Organic Farm

Our farm is a nine generation salt water farm on the shores of Cobscook Bay. Tide Mill Farm is located 30 minutes north of Machias, on the coast of Downeast Maine. We are located 15 minutes from the easternmost point in the United States. We believe in certified organic methods of care and attention when raising our mixed vegetables, herbs, small fruits, and livestock. We raise our crops on 4 acres of crop land. Our organic livestock are integrated with our whole farm system and each play a key role in the health of our family farm. Our milking herd of 60 cows are raised on 40 acres of pasture and are rotationally grazed in the growing season and fed baleage, hay and certified organic grains. We proudly feed organic grain from Maine Organic Milling, the state's newest organic grain company. Our 30 pigs are busy clearing fields for upcoming pasture, happily rooting in the earth. We raise, harvest and package 10,000 meat birds each year within a carefully managed grass-based system. We market our food directly to the consumer with farmers markets, farm stands, personalized delivery route, CSA, and the Senior FarmShare program. We sell our products to health food stores and restaurants across Maine. Additionally, Crown of Maine Organic Cooperative proudly distributes our products statewide. Connecting people to their food is an integral part of our mission.
