The Munising Farmers Market started in 2008 and is sponsored by the City of Munising. Local growers and artisans offer products exclusively from around Michigan's Upper Peninsula, predominantly from Alger and neighboring counties. This friendly farmers market is located on the shore of beautiful Munising Bay, a scenic and protected part of Lake Superior.
The 2015 market operates on Tuesday afternoons from 4-7pm beginning May 26 to October 6, 2015. Sometimes, live acoustic music is provided during the market. During July and August, a community concert series provides live music after the market closes, starting at 7pm.
Early in the market season, vendors provide annual and perennial garden plants, early season produce, eggs, baked goods, jams and jellies, honey and maple syrup, meats, and much more. One may also find art, photography, woven rugs, jewelry, pottery, soaps, body care products, woodenware, needlework, leather goods, coffee beans, and more. As the season progresses, fresh produce becomes more varied and abundant.
On occasion, the market offers demonstrations and special events.
