The Hillsboro Farmers Market was established on the Hill County Courthouse square in the Spring of 2014 as a coordination with local farmers and the Hillsboro Main Street program. Each Saturday from May through October there are approximately 15 local farmers at the market selling locally grown produce and other locally produced items such as peaches, watermelons, a wide array of fresh vegetables and fruits, pecans, Grass-fed beef, local honey, local cheese, baked goods, and several artisans selling items, such as goats milk soap and lotions, from their farm or ranch. In addition to these great items, there are often food trucks set up to grab a delicious breakfast or lunch. There are also special activities and guests on the first Saturday of every month, such as stick horse races for kids, the Texas Honey Bee Princess, demonstrations from Master Gardeners, and much more.
