Downing Farms, LLC

Downing Farms is a small, sustainably run farm in Rowan County. We grow a variety of vegetables and some fruits, such as green beans, okra, squashes, greens, tomatoes, potatoes, onions, melons and berries. We also offer free ranged brown chicken eggs. We started our farm as a way for our family to eat healthier foods, and we decided to share it with our local community. We are both teachers, and so we also strive to educate people on how their food is grown, why we grow using sustainable methods and even what to do with the produce once the buyer gets it home.
