Indigi Golden Herbals Farmstead is a 7 acre medicinal food and herb forest situated on Nisenan lands. This sacred piece of land is home to such a diverse ecosystem with handfuls of inhabitants. From beautiful butterflies to the fierce rattlesnake, we have identified over dozens of birds and love seeing the chipper chipmunks play about amongst the majestic Manzanitas. The land owners are two rootical folks from rich ancient and Indigenous lineages, who study with various Indigenous cultures from the Vedas to Ifa.
The vision is to grow medicinal herbs and food in accordance to Indigenous principles that follow the biorhythms of nature. The lead stewards have diverse backgrounds in horticulture, herbalism, regenerative land stewardship, botany, and biodynamic farming. The owners diverse and rich cultural affiliations allows the creation of naturally vibrant floral and vegetative spaces that benefit the habitat and native biodiversity of the land. Implementing seasonal, lunar, biodynamic, and Indigenous principles allows for the gardens to flourish.
Our footprint here is very light. We use permaculture methods that utilize materials already found on the land. Our Farmstead a Natural Preserve & Cultural Garden uses locally collected or homemade inputs like alpaca manure, ferments, compost teas, and compost. We love this earth, all the critters of the earth, all of the changing faces of the moon, the warmth we receive from the sun. We chant mantras into all that we do and practice a no harm, no till, no kill method. Here at our farmstead you can find Ayurvedic herbs, Persian mints and cucumbers, West African herbs and produce, as well as special Native American varieties of cherished crops. Cultural preservation is our mission here at the Farmstead Preserve. An extension of the Indigi Golden Herbals Community Supported Herbalism - Agriculture Cooperative.
