Rodgers Greens & Roots Farm is a certified organic farm, located 30 minutes southwest of Atlanta in Douglasville, Georgia, on 64 acres of historic farmland along the Chattahoochee River. Currently, 15 acres of flat clay-loam soil are under cultivation using organic practices, 10 acres in vegetables, and 5 acres in perennial fruit orchards.
The farm's Owner and Operator, Ashley Rodgers, has been farming in Georgia organically for her entire career. You can learn more about Ashley and her farming practices/beliefs on the following media: CBS Sunday Morning, Women's Health Magazine, and Civil Eats.
The farm's growing style is medium-scale, mechanized production: tractors, tools and machinery, however, we are absolutely NOT a big AG farm. Sustainable farming practices are the backbone of Rodgers Greens and Roots: compost, cover crop, and crop rotation.
Rodgers Greens and Roots farm is not only a testament to Ashley's skill at growing greens and roots, but is also named after Ashley's father, Robert George Rodgers, RGR, who passed away in 2011. At Rodgers Greens and Roots, we build community awareness of local, seasonal, organic food through providing quality ethical certified organic produce to our local community. We currently sell to many Atlanta restaurants, as well as every Saturday morning (April-December) at Peachtree Road Farmers Market in Atlanta. We also have a weekly farm box program (CSA) for individuals, couples, and families. We look forward to continuing to building a community of people around our farm that nourishes, nurtures, and cultivates love.
P.S. We are NOT currently open to the public without a scheduled meeting or tour.
