Wright-Locke Farm

The Wright-Locke Farm is an historic property located at 78 Ridge Street in Winchester, Massachusetts. Established in the mid-17th century, the farm was owned and operated for over 350 years by only three families the Wrights, the Lockes, and the Hamiltons. Over the years, the farm shrank under the pressure of development until in 2007 the Town of Winchester purchased the last 24 acres, setting aside about 10 acres for preservation and management by the Conservancy.

Today the Conservancy operates the farm, growing and marketing certified organic crops. It also maintains half a dozen historic structures on the property that will be adapted over time to facilitate the continuation of agricultural operations and to provide a base of operations for educational and recreational programs. The farm features walking trails, several of which connect to trails in the adjacent 130-acre combination of the Locke Farm and Whipple Hill conservation areas.
