Silverthorn Farm is owned and operated by Nate & Emily Parks. IT is a diversified vegetable and small animal farm located on 120 acres of land in northern Clinton county, near Rossville. We started our farm in 2006 in Montgomery County beginning with only pumpkins and melons the first two years on about 5 acres of land. Now, we pride ourselves in offering a broad range of vegetables, eggs, and pastured pork, all raised naturally. We recently took over Nate's father's herd of Red Poll cattle and will have beef to offer in the coming years. We offer over 40 types of vegetables including 200+ varieties. Strawberries and raspberries are available in addition. We participate in the Broad Ripple Farmer's Market in Indianapolis
This land we farm has been in Emily's family for generations. 280 acres north and east of Rossville was originally purchased by William Silverthorn (a great, great, great grandfather) back in 1864, nearly 150 years ago. 120 acres remain and will continue be kept in the family and farmed as it once was. It has been cash rented and farmed conventionally for decades and we feel honored to be able to restore the farm's original name.
The farm is in the transition stage and are excited to be able to start the process of Organic certification soon!
