We run a small diverse sustainable family farm powered by the sun and hard work. That is a mouthful. Small AND diverse. In other words, we are small but do a LOT. We believe there is no better way for our family to live and thrive than on a farm, and are committed to an organic lifestyle here at Jaklamas Farm. Farming, to us, is the most optimistic way of living. There is an excitement and anticipation of what the changing season will bring. You plan, prepare, labor, and wait. You learn to accept the failures that weather and other factors can bring. Most of all, you rejoice in the successes. We grow seasonal vegetables - lots! Heirlooms and good old fashioned ones that were specially chosen to taste good and be good for you. We run a small 'not a CSA' program called Farm Friends. Go to my website and check it out. All of our livestock is pastured for the best life that we can give them. We sell lots of eggs laid by happy pastured chickens. We raise grass fed Black Angus crossed with Simmenthal beef that we sell by the quarter share, and by the individual cut. We raise fresh roasting chickens in the warmer months and fabulous holiday turkeys too. You can meet Maybelline, my Jersey cow, and our other farm personalities. There is a lot going on here year round and you are welcome to stop by and say HI!

Upcoming Events

What we are lacking in the certifications is more than made up by what we actually do. We live organically, frugally and thrifty. We recycle, reuse and repurpose everything. We view our farm as it's own little sustainable ecosystem and care for it and nurture it. Our livestock is carefully tended and our vegetables may have a few holes in the leaves but if it's safe for the bugs it's safe for you :) Powered by the sun and hard work.
