Our family farm produces sustainably-grown heirloom vegetables, berries, herbs, and Shiitake and other mushrooms on 44 acres of mixed farmland, open meadows and hardwood forest. Our produce is hand-cultivated in raised garden beds, using no power equipment (e.g. tractors, rototillers, mowers) and using absolutely no chemicals or GMOs. As stewards of the land, we focus intensively on building healthy, rich soils, the foundation for growing nutritious, robust vegetables. Our heirloom vegetable varieties, which feature old-fashioned or unusual seeds, provide exceptional flavor, nutrition and freshness that can only be found in diversified local farm systems. We believe our food is most excellent!
Our CSA Community-supported agriculture, or CSA, is a direct food connection between a farmer and a consumer. Each member pays a subscription fee to buy a share of the harvest and support a farmer's vocation to farm respectfully within his/her local ecosystem. Our Holiday CSA will consist of two "hefty" deliveries. The first will be in time for the Thanksgiving family feast, and the second before Christmas and other winter festivities -- all right to your home! These collections of TGF food will include many of your favorites -- carrots, Chinese cabbage, potatoes, onions, heirloom tomato and pepper products (such as salsa, tomato sauce, dried tomatoes, peppers in oil) assorted fruit products, popcorn, shiitake, kale and bitter greens, and so much more. Of special interest will be our offerings of sustainably produced tree fruit (our orchard is maturing with a lovely variety of Asian and European pears, paw paws, and plums) and berry fruits -- all produced with no toxic chemicals -- a serious challenge in fruit production! If you visit TGF-supporting restaurants (Kathy's Cafe, Basil Wood Fired Kitchen, Bullfrog Brewery, and Herdic House), you will often find our farm products being prepared delectably!! Tewksbury Tomatoes will STILL be featured in these area restaurants during the late summer season, and also to purchase to take home. Fruit of the gods, and you know we're expert tomato growers!
