The Robinson Family Farm, located near Donegal in Western Pennsylvania, was born as an outreach to share the surplus crops we had with our local community. We live by a lot of old axioms here, including "waste not, want not!" The land here has had no pesticides used on it in the last 15 years, and while we are not certified organic (the process is too expensive!) we can say that our produce is grown naturally, with no pesticides. We use only top quality Heirloom seeds - no genetically altered food here. We provide fresh, delicious, natural produce at an honest value for our local community. Last year we had some of the best tomatoes in the region, and our cucumber pickles are still being talked about! We also had an abundance of squash, kale, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower and more. And we couldn't keep the fresh apple cider in stock! We distribute our produce through our CSA, at local Farmer's Markets, and at our roadside stand. We also have contracts with several local restaurants. We are strong believers in sustainable food systems, protecting the environment, and rotating crops to maintaining healthy, nutrient-filled soil. We will have about 3 acres in active production, and our free-range chickens have fresh scratch and new ground to explore daily. We are adding a "square foot gardening" area this year to help conserve water and make the best use of our available space.
