The farm is at the heart of Hawthorne Valley Association, a 501(c)3 non-profit that promotes social and cultural renewal through agriculture, education, research, and the arts. Other initiatives include Hawthorne Valley Waldorf School, a K-12 independent Waldorf school; a Place-Based Learning Center which includes a Visiting Students Program, and Farm Summer Camp; the Farmscape Ecology Program, which does research on the interaction of agriculture and native species habitats in our region; the Alkion Center for Adult Education which offers Foundation Studies in Anthroposophy and Teacher Training in Waldorf Education and more.
