We grow vegetables just outside Portland, Oregon and would love for you to visit our diversified farm.
Check out our draft horses, heritage turkeys, kind dogs, and wonderful vegetables.
CSA:
We're really excited about this year's CSA. We'll have more kinds of veggies and even a few fruits (strawberries!) this year. Our perennial herbs survived the flooding just fine and we'll have u-pick herbs. We have ambitious plans to devote a few rows to u-pick flowers too!
The whole set-up will stay the same, with a pick up on the farm including unlimited salads and greens when available and an option to pick up the veggie share at a market if you'd prefer. We will be at the Orenco Station market on Sunday and the Hollywood farmers market in Portland on Saturday.
Pick up time is Tuesday, 4-6:30. We'll start up on May 17th and run to the very last Tuesday in October. We plan to get a winter share going we'll start selling those shares in July or August.
This year, the CSA will be $660 for a full veggie share or $375 for a half. A $50 deposit is required to hold your share, please plan to be paid up by May or work out a payment plan with us.
And best of all, we're partnering with four awesome local farms (well, three farms and a fishmonger) to bring you great other products as well. All the veggies will still come from our farm but, you'll be able to pick up these great additions with your veggies on Tuesdays. Why go to the grocery store at all?
To sign up, just let me know by e-mail or phone what share you'd like which, if any, add-ons you'd like (see below), and let me know how you want to pay. Feel free to stop by and say hi, see the farm, and drop off your check or just drop a check in the mail. Our address is 10850 NW Jackson Quarry Rd, Hillsboro, OR, 97124
Space in the add-ons is limited so signing up earlier is better.
2016 Additions:
EGGS:
First, we'll have an egg share available from the awesome Walkabout Farm just up the hill from us. Get eggs every week rain or shine, not just when I happen to have a few from the neighbor!
Here's what Kat says about her chickens:
"[We raise] predominantly Australorps and RIRs, with some other heritage breeds thrown in just for fun. Our feed is from Mosaic Farms, and it's locally grown, milled, non-GMO, and independently-owned. Our birds are 100% raised on pasture from 6 weeks and outdoors from day 1. They are kept in electronet fencing and have a state of the art mobile coop for their grass-eating pleasure."
Basically, Kat raises her chickens like we raise our turkeys, outside and with plenty of good things to eat. I think you'll love her eggs.
A full share of a dozen eggs a week will run $156 dollars for the season. We might have a few for sale at the CSA but to be sure you get eggs every week, sign up for a share!
FISH:
From Edison Bros Fish Company. Edison Bros is an awesome company out of Banks and Astoria, the brothers are second generation fish mongers and really know their stuff. They sell at farmers markets and out of their great little storefront in Astoria. And now at the Stoneboat Farm CSA!!!
The full details are still a little in the works but this is what it looks like right now:
A standard share will consist of approximately 1 lb. of finfish (technical term) and 8 oz. of shellfish though the actual weights may vary slightly due to the value of the fish or shellfish.
You could see Sea Scallops, Dungeness Crab Meat, Pacific Oysters, Pink Shrimp, Manila Clams, Wild White Shrimp for the shellfish and Rockfish fillet, Petrale Sole Fillet, Ling Cod fillet, Coho Salmon fillet, King Salmon fillet, Sockeye Salmon fillet, Halibut fillet, or Smoked Salmon in the finfish.
We are partnering with Edison Bros because they're focused on local and sustainable fishing and because they do great work. Support another brother owned business!
Only full shares available, $25/ week. No need to buy for the whole season, this share is available month by month! Feel free to just try if for a month and keep going if you like the fish (and you will!)
Check out Edison Bros online: http://www.edisonbrosfish.com/ where you can find where else they're selling fish to try it out.
MILK:
From Daniel and Julie at Wingham Farm. I just can't say enough good things about them and their farm. They have a herd of Jersey dairy cows that produce amazing milk with amazing cream on top. We get milk from him and absolutely love it. Wingham Farm is along the Banks-Venonia trail and is just beautiful and full of ducks, pigs, cows, and chickens. It's really fun to see the farm and extremely enlightening to talk about milk with either of them!
Because the milk is raw and there are a lot of regulations around that, for this share, Daniel will handle the money directly and answer any questions you might have about the milk. He's a joy to talk to so don't be shy about sending over an e-mail. You'll still pick up the milk right here on our farm on Tuesdays unless you arrange otherwise with him. To get in touch with Daniel. Just let him know you'll be picking up at Stoneboat.
Fruit:
From Highgrove Farm. I just met Jack and heard about his hilltop orchard at the end of last year but you can just about see his orchards from our place. When he first showed me around I was completely shocked to see how amazing the farm is (they even have a chicken coop patterned on the Prince of Wales's chicken coup!) and, particularly the variety of fruit he's got. He'll have plums, apples, blueberries, figs, plucots, quince, raspberries, and cherries.
We'll have pick-ups every other week and the shares will be $10 for a half and $17.50 for a whole. Please pay for this with your veggie shares, 120 a season for a half share and 210 for a full share.

We deliver to Portland area restaurants twice a week and would love to talk more to you about getting our unique (and less unique) produce into your kitchens. We currently work with many of Portland's best restaurants and would love to add yours to the list!
