The Tappahannock Main Street Program, the Town of Tappahannock and Essex County are hosting a series of monthly farmers' markets located in historic downtown Tappahannock. The markets are held from 9-1 pm on the THIRD Saturday of each month starting April and running through November (except June when we have RivahFest).
The Markets feature: vegetables and fruits; meats and seafood; garden plants and accessories; home made crafts and fine arts; and an assortment of restaurant and food vendors, as well as, music by local performers.
The Markets will be located on the Fountain Green in the historic downtown business district. The dates are April 16, May 21, no June market (visit for RivahFest! on June 18), July 16, August 20, September 17, October 15 and November 19 in 2016.

The Tappahannock Farmers' Market began over 50 years ago in the center of the historic business district. Farmers backed up to the Fountain Green and sold out of the back of the truck. Since 2009, the Tappahannock Main Street Program has operated a farmer-friendly market with local produce, meats, dairy products, breads,jellies, cookies, cakes and pies. If you like to eat it - we probably have it. Please come see us - Routes 17/360 before the Downing bridge over the Rappahannock River.
