Sweet corn is available beginning early to mid-July and fresh vegetables are available throughout the season. You may find us at Hollidaysburg Farmers Market on Tuesdays, the Downtown Altoona Farmers Market on Thursdays or every day 9-7 at our self-serve on-farm market. Please call ahead for availability of freezing/canning orders of corn or other vegetables.
Our growing methods focus on sustainability/regenerative agriculture. Our high tunnels are run organically and our vegetable field is in the 2nd year of transition to organic. At this time (2025), all of our lettuces, greens, eggplants and some tomatoes are organic. Most all other vegetables that we grow, (exceptions are sweet corn and potatoes) are transitional organic. For our berries, sweet corn and potatoes, sustainability is still the focus and we use Integrated Pest Management (IPM) which focuses on comprehensive information on the life cycles of pests and their interaction with the environment. This information is used to manage pest damage by the most economical means, AND with the least possible hazard to people, property, and the environment. Our goal is to grow a healthy crop with minimal disruption to agro-ecosystems.
Please keep tabs on us as we expand our selection of Pick-Your-Own Fruits & Vegetables. We plan to have more Pick-Your-Own strawberries available in the future. Cherry trees are planted too, but they'll be a few years! Thanks for supporting us in our Pick-Your-Own endeavor! We hope you enjoy our farm as much as we do.
