Downtown Ypsilanti Farmers' Market

The Downtown Ypsilanti Farmers' Market (DYFM) is entering its sixth year providing fresh, local produce and other quality food products and crafts! We opened in 2006 based on a Community Needs Assessment that highlighted the lack of access to fresh foods in downtown Ypsilanti. The current DYFM site was selected for its central location and proximity to public housing and transportation.

The DYFM participates in WIC, Project & Senior Project FRESH, EBT/Bridge Card, Double Up Food Bucks and Prescription for Health Program. These programs provide coupons for low-income families and seniors that they can spend only on fresh Michigan-grown produce at farmers' markets. The market is a win-win for local agriculture, small businesses, the downtown business district, and Ypsilanti area residents!

Thanks to our organizational supporters- Washtenaw County Public Health, MSU Extension, the Ypsilanti Food Co-op, City of Ypsilanti, and Ypsilanti Health Coalition!

The market is very easy to access for many different people and has brought new vibrancy to downtown. All of the vendors are friendly and offer great variety and reasonable prices.

I support Farmers' Markets everywhere! I lived in Ypsilanti a few years back, and saw the need for this market when it was just starting. Currently, I live in Southern Mexico, where I have started a grass roots org.... [more]
