The Washington D.C. region's premier 12-months-of-harvest CSA. We are a highly diverse certified organic farm, growing over 120 varieties of vegetables, fruits, herbs, and flowers for bouquets. For the safety of our CSA's foods and because we are so committed to great vegetable and fruit quality, we DO NOT buy produce from other farms, auction houses, or produce wholesalers and then re-pack such questionable stuff for our members. Three distinct CSA membership options: a High Summer CSA (300 families in 2014; application deadline late June); a 6-month (April 25 to Nov.1) Farmers' Market Option debit CSA (240 2014 members) and a unique Winter CSA (225 families; November-April). We also sell to fine restaurants, universities, and stores, and at the Saturday Broad Branch Farmers' Market in Chevy Chase, WDC. We specialize in heirloom vegetables of the finest flavors, and grow our foods slowly to maximize quality and to protect the farm ecosystem that we so treasure.
Our winter CSA foods include superb frost-sweetened greens for salads and for cooking, herbs, turnips, radishes, and sweet potatoes. Our spring and summer CSA crops include heirloom tomatoes, cucumbers, new potatoes, sweet potatoes, eggplant, squash, sweet onions, fresh herbs, peppers, melons, figs, etc. Come to our farmers' markets in Chevy Chase and Lexington Park for great diverse organic foods!
