Oliview Farm

In nature, much of life occurs at the interface of soil, water, air and sun. Edges and intersections foster innovation, creativity, and invention. Allowing interactions between plant species, animals, soil, water, and land help to foster resilience, productivity, and adaptation on Oliview Farm. We are a 5-acre farm nestled in the center of Happy Valley in Shasta County, CA. The farm hosts Mission Olive trees planted in the late 1800s, from which we mill olive oil each year. We have a 1-acre section fenced off, and make use of the french intensive method in growing heirloom breeds of fruits and vegetables. We save our own seed, when possible, to encourage locally-adapted traits in the foods we grow. We began serving the community with a test-year of our Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) in 2013. Our goal is to serve approximately 100 shares in the Redding and Anderson communities and around Shasta County. Our Mission Olive oil is available to anyone interested, though we always reserve adequate quantities for our CSA customers. Heritage breed poultry (Mottled Javas) wander our 100-year-old orchard, while our beautiful little Soay sheep dance as they eat our weeds. Eggs are delivered with CSA shares, but are available to non-members when there are adequate quantities and during the off-season.
