Bluebird Farmstand

Bluebird Farmstand is a family owned and operated old fashioned country store located near Tyler Pounds Field Airport in Tyler Texas. Bluebird serves East Texas with wholesome dairy and organic produce, an on-site Refillery with organic farmhouse cleaning supplies and personal care products. Bluebird also has American Made Cookware & Stoneware.

Brian established the farmstand in 1991 under Bluebird Gap Farm now located near the county lines of Smith and Van Zandt Counties. For more than 33-years the Ferris family has worked on refining the business to help meet the needs for homesteaders.

The owners (BW & Sonya) are both military veterans. They run the farmstand along with their children and grandchildren.

BW joined the Old Order Amish in 1992 where he learned sustainable agriculture and worked with draft horses. He is the founder of both Tiger Creek Animal Sanctuary and the American Mammoth Jackstock Stock Association which manages the oldest Equine Registry in the World. After retiring from the Sanctuary as a Director, he now oversees the development of the farmstand.

Sonya is a procurement professional; she currently provides consulting services to the Internal Revenue Service. She is also a skilled artist and she is working on several projects for the farmstand. Together, BW and Sonya have 13 children and 16 grandchildren.

Bluebird Farmstand brings safe-sourced farm fresh produce, organic milk, pasture raised eggs, and local honey. It features organic grass fed beef, lamb and pork as well as pasture raised poultry. They have expanded the country store to include organic soaps, cleaning supplies and personal care products. In 2024 they will be adding gardening, homestead items, farmhouse decor, and other hard to find farm life treasures.
