The Brownsville Farmers' Market was created to provide local residents with a place to find fresh, affordable, locally grown produce. Each week, 15 to 20 vendors sell in-season vegetables and fruits, farm-fresh eggs, honey, home-made breads and jams, fresh-caught Gulf shrimp, and herbs. The Market is held every Saturday. Hours are 9:00 am to 12 noon. The Market is centrally located for a day of great fun. During Market hours the Brownsville Museum of Fine Art (right there at Linear Park) is open and charges nothing. Without moving your car, you can visit the Gladys Porter Zoo.
