We are a small sustainable family farm in south-central McLean County raising produce, fresh herbs, seedlings and seedstock for the local community.
2014 is our 11th year growing fresh produce for the local community.
All seed-stock is sourced organically when possible and absolutely no GMO seed is used in our produce fields. We select varieties for diversity, color, flavor, beauty and nutritional value.
We are known for our specialty potatoes, tomatoes, rhubarb, garlics, leeks, sweet and storage onions, and sweet potatoes. Every season we grow dozens of Heirloom Tomato varieties, more than a half-dozen varieties each of specialty potatoes, sweet peppers, onions, peas, beans, beets, carrots, cucumbers, and sweet potatoes. 2014 will include sweet corn, Indian corn, dent corn, and popcorn too. Tomatillos and Epazote are in again. Winter Squashes, leeks and shallots also.
We will be letting ground cherries volunteer this year. We have a good selection of established herbs. Rhubarb beds have done well in their new locations - we are beginning to divide hills this year and will have rhubarb starts available for purchase.
Small fruits are being established in 2014 and will be available in 2015 - blueberries, currants, elderberry, gooseberry. Asparagus is being trenched also.

Spring has come and gone. The heat wave of this Summer continues to challenge. And it turns out to be a good time to have taken a break from marketing produce. We continue the projects in the old orchard, and do our best to keep perennial beds alive through the heat. Produce beds lay fallow for now. There were so many plans for growing things this year, but those have been pushed aside. For now. [July 11th]
