Contented Acres Produce is dedicated to providing quality produce to local customers while practicing regenerative farming to improve and maintain a healthy soil and farm ecosystem. Through biodiversity we encourage a nature-based ecology that maintains plant health with minimal outside inputs and maximum nutritional value in our fresh fruits and veggies. We save seed from many of our open-pollinated and heirloom varieties and start our own transplants in our greenhouse. All of our produce is sold direct-from-the-farm through our CSA program and our pop-up field stand. Visit us 9 a.m. until noon on Sunday and Thursday mornings for fresh items picked that day!
March is coming in with spinach and broccoli added to the greens that have mostly sustained us through winter. Portuguese kale and a curly variety from Guatemala are harvesting regularly. As our winter beets are decreasing in production we have later sowings following right behind. We also have Persian cress and Astro arugula. Rio Red grapefruit will last all through spring and a few Asian vegetables will be seen now and then. Fava beans are growing well and should make their usual appearance in April.
