Ellwood Canyon Farms is located on two acres in the western outskirts of Goleta, Ca. It is a small piece of a larger 20 acre property which has a long history of agriculture dating back to the 1870s when horticulturist Ellwood Cooper first cultivated the fertile soil. I, Jack Motter, began renting the land in November 2009. The last few months has been filled with cleanup, equipment gathering, and production planning for the coming season. The goal for the farm is to cultivate a wide variety of vegetables, fruits, and herbs to sell directly to the local community through a CSA program, farmers markets, and an on farm produce stand. If you are interested in joining the CSA please contact me directly by phone or e-mail and I will get you the details. Also feel free to follow the story of the farm and get up to date information through my blog at freshmanfarmer.com/ellwoodcanyonfarms.
