Ridgeland Harvest is a certified organic produce farm owned and operated by Cate and Mat Eddy. We have been raising fresh vegetables, fruits and herbs on our 70-acre farm in the Driftless Region of Wisconsin since 2000. It was then that we began farming with a half acre of flowers and vegetables which we balanced with full-time, off-farm jobs. Now we raise 20 acres of vegetables, herbs, and fruits, along with our two growing sons. In a few more years, fruit from our small orchard with apple and cherry trees, and blueberries will be available primarily through our CSA program.
Our produce is sold through our Community Supported Agriculture program, at the Dane County Farmers Market on the capital square in Madison, regional food co-ops in Viroqua, La Crosse, and the Twin Cities, as well as to local farm-to-table restaurants. All our customers depend on our high quality staple kitchen items such as carrots, broccoli, onions, garlic, kale, tomatoes, leeks, beets, lettuce - along with the more unique items we like to grow such as herbs, fennel, swiss chard, brussels sprouts and celeriac.
Our farm has been certified organic since 2004 because we strongly believe that synthetic chemicals, fertilizers, and antibiotics are unnecessary when soil is maintained as a living organism. When the soil is healthy, so are the plants that grow from it. We, too, are only as healthy as our source of nourishment - our food. We feel privileged to grow food and honored to share it with a larger community. We invite you to be a part of our community and share in the bounty of our harvests!
