Hillsborough Farmers Market

The Hillsborough Farmers Market is a 28-year-old public service, non-for-profit organization whose primary mission is to encourage, support, and promote the entrepreneurial efforts of local independent, and small scale farmers, bakers, and crafters seeking to sell their products directly to the consumer and operating independently from large corporate or factory farms/businesses. Inherent in this mission is serving the community and the consumer who benefit from the availability of these vendors' products. Additional goals are to educate the consumer about the many benefits to the individual, the community, and the environment of buying fresh, locally produced food, to provide a venue for other local non-profit organizations and local musicians and to enhance and enrich the community and culture of the town of Hillsborough and surrounding communities. On market Saturdays April through November, the Hillsborough Farmers Market in the Oakdale Village parking lot at the intersection of Oakdale Drive and Route Old 86 (on Old 85 between interstates 40 and 85) transforms into a lively marketplace. A cornucopia of local produce, plants, baked goods, cheeses, crafts, gluten and dairy free baked goods and more are offered for sale. Neighbors greet neighbors. Shoppers fill their bags with the local harvest and delight in sharing these pleasures with family and friends. At 10am, local musicians add their sound to the festive atmosphere. Linger to enjoy the music and ambiance of the Hillsborough Farmers Market in The Home Depot parking lot. Summer hours 8 am-noon and Winter hours (10 am-noon) round out our market options.
