Oakway Farms

I've always had a passion for growing great food. It started fresh out of college with a few tomato plants and grew to 1,000 sq feet of mixed veggies and two backyard chickens. As my wife and I started a family and researched how food was grown, we came to realize that we needed to take control of how our family's food was produced. We found that labels didn't tell the whole story and food just didn't taste as good as it did when we grew it. I felt a calling to get outside and make a difference. So, we started a farm and made my passion into my new career. We named it Oakway Farms and our goal is to make it the showcase organic farm of the area. We grow over 50 different varieties of seasonal produce using better than organic processes. Our chickens are antibiotic, steroid, and hormone free and free ranged on pasture. They are supplemented with non-GMO feed and are raised using the highest standards focused on animal welfare and land conservation. Our CSA members and a few select farmers' markets and grocery stores enjoy these products throughout the growing year. We also have paid apprenticeships/internships where you learn how to grow great food by actually doing the work it takes to grow it. Our CSA's start in May and end late October. We have a variety of CSA's for people to chose from and also offer home delivery to most parts of St Louis. Everything in our CSA are items we grow ourselves on our farm.
