The Blaine Gardener's Market was an idea generated by The Circle of Trees Art Studio and Farm in 2008, and sponsored by the Blaine Chamber of Commerce since 2009. It's goal is to encourage the local economy, stimulate community participation, and to support local farmers, gardeners, artists and craftspeople.
The Market takes place on the H Street Plaza which is centrally located in downtown Blaine overlooking the beautiful Drayton Harbor Bay. There is an atmosphere of joy and celebration at market time, and the community has welcomed the market with open arms.
Market days are the second and fourth Saturday of the month from June through October. The hours are 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Anybody from anywhere can sell anything that is grown, produced by the artist or craftsperson, or prepared by the chef (in a certified kitchen). No imports, garage sale items, flea market products, or wholesale items may be sold. Bartering is OK along with cash sales. Buskers, commercial food sales such as popcorn, etc are welcome, and nonprofits may sell their wares.
Set-up and registration starts at 8:30 AM, and THERE IS NO CHARGE FOR THE MARKET. Sellers are responsible for all necessary licenses, as well as, state requirements around food sales.
