West Green Farm

West Green Farm is located on the historic Lebanon Green which dates back to 1700. The Preli's, who operate West Green Farm, are carefully producing high-quality farm fresh fruits and vegetables for their family and yours. Originally the property was a dairy farm with a history dating back to 1740. The Preli's have worked to clear and clean up the farm to be able to grow fruit and vegetables. About 1/2 of the farms 34 acres is dedicated to growing produce now. Steve Preli, one of the owners, farms using IPM practices along with a mix of organic practices including the use compost and living mulches to increase soil health. Steve worked with UCONN for three years for fruit and vegetable IPM and he developed a system and reputation for growing high quality, locally grown produce. Part of the system includes the use of drip irrigation for the whole farm, which conserves water and puts it where its needed most; the roots. They also use plastic mulch and row covers for early harvest and pest reduction. The farm offers CSA's and includes fruit and vegetables and the farm stand is open from June to the end of October.
