Green Youth Farm, a youth leadership program, give students ages 13 to 18 the chance to grow fresh food for local markets, while learning about sustainable agriculture and green entrepreneurship. A variety of fruits, vegetables, and flowers are on grown on 3 agricultural sites throughout the Chicago area. The main crops, however, are the knowledge, experience, and pride gained by the participants. Students not only grow food, but they also create meals and design business plans to market their produce.
Green Youth Farm is a program of the Chicago Botanic Garden.
