We believe that the Portland ME farmers' market is the second longest running market in the country, 100+ years in continuous operation.
The market is open Wednesday 7am - 2 pm at Monument Square May - October.
Our markets are open air markets. We are open rain or shine. Each market is 30 members strong. We offer only locally produced produce, fruits, meats, cheeses, plants and farmer produced value added products. Sorry ,you won't find any bananas or pineapples here. Everything sold at our markets is grown in Maine and must be purchased directly from Maine farmers.

It's convenient since I'm intown on Weds. anyway, but mostly it's special. I've found the BEST cider I've ever had, every variety of winter squash, and even a pussy willow wreath in the springtime! - just to name a few highlights...

I work near the market and love buying local produce there! There is also a new farmers market in Scarborough, Maine that I go to on Sunday mornings.
