Perennial Roots

Our project began as a homestead. We were looking to live a simpler life. As we cultivated herbs and tended our trees, we began to produce more than we could eat. We eased into selling to neighbors and friends and markets. We use no pesticides or herbicides -- we are a no-spray farm.

Our goals and practices are a synthesis of biodynamic rhythms and permaculture concepts, encouraging and fostering diversity in plants, animals and wildlife throughout the farm.

Our animals are feed exclusively Organic-certified feed plus whatever they collect while free-ranging on our farm. We use no antibiotics on our animals -- or on our bees. All of our breeds are older and rarer heritage breeds, usually dual-purpose and always high quality. We breed and sell a number of animals. Availability is limited.

We grow exclusively non-GMO heirloom plants. We grow many varieties of tomatoes, eggplant, peppers, cucumbers, lettuce, greens, fruit trees, berries, mushrooms and more. We raise heritage breed pigs, sheep, geese, ducks, chickens, rabbits, and turkeys.

We run a local vegetable CSA with meat options as add-on items.
