The mission of the market is to promote and support local agriculture and farm families; to increase consumer appreciation for local farmers, crafters and artists; and to enhance the cultural experience of the Slippery Rock community.
We encourage our patrons to get to know the growers and to ask them about the agricultural processes that brought the food from farm to market.
Our vendors offer a wide variety of produce in season (much of it organically, naturally. and/or sustainably grown), including seedlings and plants for home gardens; apples, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries; lettuces, kale and other greens; beets, carrots, turnips, and potatoes of many colors and types; cucumbers, corn, heirloom tomatoes, melons, summer and winter squashes, snap beans, eggplant; bell, hot and sweet peppers; broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower; sugar snap peas, snow peas; scallions, onions, garlic; fresh and dried herbs.
We also carry local grass-finished meats, eggs, fresh-cut flowers, fresh baked goods; goat milk fudge; pickles, jellies and jams; homemade soaps, lotions, and salves; candles; fair trade items; handmade jewelry, ceramic, glass, and paper crafts; and more.
