Since 2011, the Oneida County Public Market has offered the highest quality locally and regionally grown fruits and vegetables in central New York. It has become a trusted source of fresh, healthy produce, meats and food products by the community. This year-round market features regional farmers, producers and artisans attracting over 20,000 consumers annually to Union Station in the historic Bagg?s Square neighborhood of downtown Utica, New York. The summer season (mid-May through October) is held behind Union Station at the site of the former Railway Express Agency (REA) wing of the facility. The winter season is brought indoors to the Main Lobby of Union Station with its breath-taking marble pillars and vaulted ceilings. The facility, listed on the state historic registry, is deeply rooted in the early years of the City and the rich manufacturing history of the area. Many market-goers share memories of family generations working in and around trains, transportation and economy along the banks of the Erie Canal.
On Saturday mornings a pop-up community based on food is created from 9:00am to 1:00pm in and around Union Station, bringing history to life through the celebration of our local and regional foods and agricultural partners.
