The Anselma Farmers and Artisans Market is proud to continue and extend the tradition of providing locally produced food on the site of the Anselma Mill, which continues to grind flour in its stone mill, as it has since 1747. The Mill is a nationally registered historic landmark, an extraordinary artifact of our industrial and food-production history.
Our weekly Wednesday market provides locally produced food and artisan creations of excellent quality, sold directly by the producers. All food is sustainably produced, free of genetically engineered ingredients, and approved by the Chester County Health Department. Meats and poultry are from pastured and humanely treated livestock.
Products include extensive varieties of vegetables (including from heirloom seeds), fruits, herbs, flowers, fresh and prepared meats, eggs, fermented preserves, baked goods, tea blends, fruit ice pops, soaps, plus fine handicrafts for gifts or for yourself made from silver, fabrics, and alpaca wool. Your family can enjoy a sustainably prepared meal from a food truck and enjoy it at picnic tables in the shade by the mill creek. The Mill's own stone-ground flours are also for sale.
Special events include live musicians, children's activities, food preparation demos, solar electricity information, local library, seasonal food festivals, and Mill tours (please call ahead to schedule tour). For vendors and events schedule, photos, and seasonal recipes, sign up for our weekly e-news by sending an email to: anselmafarmersmkt@gmail.com. (Be assured that we do not share our list.)
