Would you like an affordable weekly share box of farm fresh fruits and veggies?
Bluebird Market began as a vertical part of the Bluebird Victory Garden, a community gardening effort in Thomaston Georgia. The market spotlights local growers, bakers and artisans.
"They paved paradise and put up a parking lot" inspired us to reclaim the old R. C. Cola Building Parking Lot and develop a community garden. Over 4 inches of gravel were excavated to grow vegetables, fruits and herbs.
Bluebird Market is open year round Saturdays 8 am until noon at the Historic Downtown Train Depot in Thomaston, Georgia , 218 N. Center Street
In December 2010, we received a greenhouse grant gift by Griffin Area Resource Center and invite you to grow with us.
Bluebird Market is a sustainability initiative to bring together our local growers and artisans to set up regular accounts with local business owners, restaurants, grocers, collectible shops, and florists. We are open to the public and invite you to shop local for your family on a weekly basis with Bluebird Market.
Bluebird Market is a Think Global, Act Local Sustainability Initiative.
Join our effort to encourage our local growers and artisans to hatch a business. Find fresh and healthy local products for your family. We invite you to show your support and shop the market and sign up for a Bluebird CSA weekly share produce box.
If you are a locally owned and operated business, show your customers you buy local products by setting up regular accounts with our market vendors.
You will find products like homegrown tomatoes, local flowers, farm fresh eggs, artisan breads, fresh herbs, green onions, Vidalia onion relish, fruit pies, local honey, squash pickles, flavored lemonades, baked goods, fudge, pecans, ciders and much more.
Also featured are local folk artists and undiscovered talent from local artisans. Find homecrafted soaps and bath salts, pure baby products, and green cleaning supplies. Hand refinished furnishings and lovely designs one of a kind. Hand sewn quilts, homemade baby items and summer sundresses. Bluebird Artisan Guild members also sell their Georgia made work in the TUAC (Thomaston Upson Arts Council) Gift Gallery on the square in Thomaston during the week.
Bluebird Market sustainability initiative sponsors include Greensun Recycling, Bluebird Victory Garden and other local green business owners.
