Shlagel Farms is a family farm located in Waldorf, Maryland approximately 30 minutes south of our Nations capitol. We are now entering our 105th year of farming and are a recognized "Century Farm" by the Maryland Department of Agriculture. Currently the farm is owned and operated by Russ and Eileen Shlagel and their 5 children.
The farm currently raises 125-150 acres of fresh market vegetables. These are sold to local grocery store chains, as well as several brokerage houses which distribute to the restaurant trade. In addition the farm participates in multiple farmers markets throughout the DC, Virginia, and Maryland. Lastly we operate a CSA/Buyers club on the farm.
***New this year*** We will be offering our homegrown beef and pork for sale on the farm.
