Shepherd's Valley

Located in the flint hills tall grass prairie of east central Kansas, Shepherd's Valley is a family owned diversified farm featuring organically grown fruits, vegetables, herbs, meats, and eggs direct marketed to consumers. The fruits, vegetables, and herbs are available weekly through three seasonal CSA subscription share programs. The 2026 Spring CSA share runs 4 weeks through the month of May. The main season Summer Share runs 13 weeks from June through August. The Fall Share extends the season 7 more weeks from the se4ond week of September through the end of October. We have been providing wholesome foods to our customers using chemical-free, biologically sound methods for over 45 years. We follow organic, regenerative, and sustainable principles in all aspects of the farm.

Shepherd's Valley raises pastured poultry including broilers, heritage hens, and farm fresh eggs. Customers tell us our broilers remind them of that old-fashioned chicken flavor they remember when they were kids - "just like Grandma used to serve." Our pampered hens lay gorgeous large brown eggs that are a real treat - delighting bakers, chefs, and breakfast eaters.  All of our poultry are raised on lush green pastures and fed certified organic grains and trace mineral supplements. No vaccinations, antibiotics, hormones, pesticides, medicated feeds, or GMO'S are used in the production of our birds.

Grass fed Corriedale sheep and lambs provide our customers with premium table fare and beautiful handspinner wool. A growing number of hand spinning enthusiasts are discovering our prize-winning wool fleeces. Our lambs are 100% naturally grown on Psalm 23 green pastures and hay. Everyone who tries our lamb meat comes back for more! A number of area chefs find no comparison equal to Shepherd's Valley lamb. 

We have been beekeepers since the early 1980's, and continue providing our customers with raw honey and bee pollen, as well as value-added products such as jams and jellies.

You do not have to be a member of our CSA to purchase farm products, however our shareholders receive first priority.

Shepherd's Valley is located northwest of Americus, Kansas We are a 20 minute drive from Emporia and an hour's scenic drive from both Topeka and Manhattan.
