The Columbia Heights Community Marketplace builds and strengthens this Washington, D.C. neighborhood's culture, community, and economy through local, sustainably produced food, entertainment, arts, and community service. It does this by educating and empowering community members, especially youth, to learn about and gain employment in local food, farming, entertainment, and community service. The result is a community full of healthy people eating healthy food grown near home and while putting their skills to work building a strong, local economy.
Our 2012 season will run every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., beginning May 12th and ending on December 15th at the Columbia Heights civic plaza at the intersection of 14th Street and Park Road, NW in Washington, DC. It happens one block north of the Columbia Heights stop on the Green metro line.
