We began in 2007 with a couple apple trees that soon expanded to include apples, peaches, pears, cherries, apricots, plums, and asian pears. We then introduced several hundred feet of berries: blueberries, red and black raspberries, blackberries, gooseberries, and red and black currants. Lately, we've added the superfoods aronia and elderberries.
We also have rhubarb, Concord grapes, and many seedless varieties of grapes. In addition to our cultivated fruits, we have wild dewberries, paw paws, persimmons, and assorted nuts. In 2009, we began producing vegetables on a large scale, converting a long-time hayfield into vegetable plots. We have over 1300 asparagus plants as well. We raise all vegetables, some flowers, and ornamental gourds, pumpkins, and corn. We offer both hybrid and heirloom varieties of all produce and somewhat specialize in winter squashes. We are also known for our wide assortment of melons--both standard and exotic. For the most part, we sell online and at the Effingham farmers market. We also enjoy supplying restaurants.
