While our motto has long been "Certified Organic! Certified Good!", we have now dropped our organic certification and have been growing the same way without the paperwork. We first were certified Organic in 1994, but surrendered our certificate in 2018. We continue to grow food following the same organic standards, and are actually "beyond organic" in that we do more than is required to retain soil, and to protect the groundwater, our clients, and our workers. Our farm and home are 100% Solar-Powered, and we have a Rainwater Collection System holding 20,000 gallons.

We are one of the pioneering organic farms in the Austin area, and ran the longest-running CSAs (Community Supported Agriculture) in Texas, definitely the first one over 100 customers! Our CSA is no longer offered. We started with 16 customers in 1994, and finished out 2017 with 320 "basketeers", our affectionate name for our CSA clients. Our big thing has always been Quality. From the varieties we choose to the ways in which we handle produce post-harvest, our goal has always been to share a fresh-from-the-garden experience with you. (Except we do all the cleaning!) We want the beautiful and tasty vegetables we grow to retain all their moisture, nutrition, vibrancy, and taste for the people who eat them. Voted the Austin Chronicle's Best Organic Veggie Delivery Service, and the downtown Austin Farmers' Market's "Favorite Farmer" in 2010 and 2012, we've been doing our best to keep Austin healthy since 1993. In 2010, we grew into a fuel-efficient Dodge Sprinter delivery van in order to keep up with the demand for our home delivery vegetable service and keep our waiting lists from getting so long.
Thank you Austin for 27 years of support! We have loved sharing the harvest with you: it was not only certified organic for 25 years; it's also always been and continues to b Certified GOOD!! Our farm is no longer serving the public, but Steelbow Farm is growing produce here on our fields now-- please check them out!
