Good Fortune Farm

For 2024 I am instituting a every other week share delivery schedule. In the many prior seasons most members find that the volume of produce becomes unmanageable at times. A week is a very short interval in reality. My goal is to balance value and volume so bigger and fewer share through the season seems a better format allowing the members to enjoy the experience. This also reduces my time off the farm and allow a better balance through the year.

Offering door to door service to select neighborhoods.

CSA Season : 16 shares May - November.

No half shares but consider splitting with a friend or neighbor.
Cost: $42 / Week/ share $672 plus $128 deliver per address
Total cost $800

~1 dozen pasture raised eggs will be included or as soon as the hens start laying, contingent upon availability of laying hens..

Produce offered: eggs, asparagus, broccoli, beans, cabbage corn, dill and other herbs, eggplant, fennel, gourds, haricovet, Japanese greens, khol rabi, kombocha squash, lima beans, melons, new potatoes, onions, peas, peppers, strawberries, radishes, summer squash, tomatoes, unusual ethnic produce, vintage varieties, watermelons, xtra good lettuce, yams (sweet potatoes), zucchini (varieties may change each season)

Weekly share averaged about 10# last season with 10-12 items in each share.

We are offering 50 shares this season. Historically I have had approximately 10-15 shares available for new members each season. deliver to specific neighborhoods in NW DC and Montgomery County so I select new members close to my established routes. On farm pick up is also available in Brandywine, Maryland.

We are a small diversified farm using organic methods located just 20 miles south of Washington DC near Waldorf, MD. Our primary crops are seasonal market vegetables. We also raise pastured (but not organic) ,eggs, chicken and turkey for meat. The CSA includes produce and eggs but not poultry.
Poultry is available upon request as available.

We provide 16 shares between May and November. Shares are $42 per week with a $8 per week delivery surcharge. We do not require members to work on the farm thus are more of a subscription vs. classic CSA strategy. Members are continuously accepted until all shares are sold.

We DO NOT offer half shares and recommend that you split weeks with another family if you think a whole share would be too much.

Generally a share is adequate for two good vegetable eaters or a family of four for several meals. There is usually never enough strawberries and too many eggplants, peppers or squash or whatever crop is overly prolific each season, it varies year by year.

This year's goal is to provide a minimum of 10 items per share for 16 weeks for a total of 160 items. I plan to include as much produce as reasonable possible with each share. Each part of the season varies in productivity.
