Located in the parking lot of the Sherwood Regional Library, the Mt Vernon Farmers' Market is a "producer-only" farmers' market, whose mission is to support local agriculture within the Chesapeake Bay Watershed area. Vendors must grow, raise or produce the products they sell in the market. Vendors with value-added products, such as baked goods, sauces, specialty meat products, jams and jellies are encouraged to buy local raw ingredients for their products whenever possible.

In keeping with our mission to support farmers and producers within a 125 mile radius, the Mt Vernon Market offers a wide array of vegetables, fruits, meats (to include bison meat), sausages, pecans, walnuts, baked goods, jams, jellies, honey, potted plants, cut flowers, dried flowers, herbs, spices and teas. No brokers or reselling is allowed.

The Fairfax County Master Gardeners, an educational outreach organization of Virginia Cooperative Extension have representatives at the market to help you with disease, insect and plant questions for your residential landscape. You are encouraged to bring in a sample of a diseased plant for diagnosis and control solutions. Take this opportunity to learn the Best Management Practices for Northern Virginia landscapes and gardens.

Fresh items including organic and truly free range and grass fed and finished meats and poltry. Fresh eggs. Plus all the farmers are friendly and helpful.

Wonderful food, wonderful people! The best way to shop! If everyone based their weekly meals around the farmers market, you would save money, lose weight, get the freshest fruits, veggies, meats, breads and dairy possible, and support local farms. There is no better way to shop!!!

Smaller than closer markets but the variety offered is great. Fresh fruit and beautiful flowers!
